When it comes to pianos, technology has caught up to allow for the creation of digital pianos that are almost exactly like the real thing, but with several improvements. The Classenti CDP2 digital piano is a top of the line instrument with 88 full-size keys that work in the same way regular keys do, responding to various degrees of pressure from fingers. Dynamics are important in piano music, and you’ll be able to honor the intentions of the composer with this piano. Meanwhile, the three settings of key weight control add even more flexibility, allowing you to choose from standard, light and heavy modes.

Like the keys, the pedals are the same as on a normal piano. The most frequently used pedal will most likely be the sustain, on the right, which extends notes without that key being pressed down. On the left is the soft pedal, which makes the music being played sound much softer. Finally, the sostenuto pedal in the middle extends notes while those keys are depressed. Additionally, the keyboard is structured like a typical piano in that keys on the lower end are heavier and ones on the higher end are lighter.

The Classenti CDP2 digital piano sounds just like a regular piano. It has two different piano settings as well as two digital piano settings, and other available instruments include organ, harpsichord, vibraphone and strings, all accessed with the touch of a button next to the piano’s bottom note. Other great features include a built-in metronome to help ensure that you get your rhythm right and 40 watts of stereo amplification. The piano comes with an AC adapter and has built-in headphone jacks so that you can practice as much as you want without worrying about your playing annoying others.

Another nice feature is the ability to record and play back songs. Additionally, the piano comes equipped with eight demo songs and 32 songs to practice on. These can help you to get more comfortable with playing this instrument, as can the included instruction manual. If you play with others often, you’ll also appreciate the transpose feature, which allows you to instantly change keys. All of these aspects of the piano make it especially useful in settings such as a church or school.

The Classenti CDP2 is extremely similar in many ways to the CDP1, but there are a few key differences. The CDP2 is a bit larger at 110 pounds (50 kg) and 16.5 inches (42 cm) in depth, which makes it a sturdier instrument ideal for use in situations where it will be played often. Much of this added weight is due to the full backboard, which also makes the piano more attractive. Additionally, it’s a bit easier to navigate, since the control panel only has three buttons.

If you’re in the market for a new piano, don’t count out digital until you’ve tried it for yourself. The CDP2 is an instrument of quality that will enhance any home or house of worship.
